One common misconception that people have is that healthy food does not taste good. You might have had health foods in the past that weren’t very appealing to you, or you might have just fallen for the stigma that others have fed into. Either way, you have not tried La Juicer Superfoods before!

One of the first few brands to start the trend of cold-pressed juices in Malaysia, La Juiceria has found success in launching their superfood menu at Goodness Green Cafe TTDI and now, La Juiceria Superfoods at Verve Suites, Mont Kiara.

The menu here is pretty extensive. One can select from an array of Vegan Soups, Signature Salads, Superbowls, Wraps, Pastas, Supersnacks, Smoothie Bowls and of course Power Breakfasts. Alternatively, you may opt for Build-Your-Own Gourmet Salads. I had fun trying to build a mediterranean themed salad with well marinated and tender lamb forequarter, feta cheese, corns, bell peppers, couscous with a base of fresh, crisp greens (from RM 15.90).

Teriyaki Chicken Grain Bowl (RM 18.90)
The bowl contains brown rice, quinoa, soft boiled kampung egg and grilled Teriyaki chicken thigh. Slightly poke that runny egg to let it ooze and enjoy the creaminess of the yolk by mixing it with the fluffy quinoa and well marinated teriyaki chicken.

Another favourite of ours is the Smoked Duck Soba (RM18.90). The charcoal soba noodles is high in fibre with types of high quality protein and a source of vitamin B. Serve together with  soft boiled Kampung egg, crispy shredded seaweed, sesame seeds, mixed salad leaves with Shoyu sesame dressing and top with thick chunky smoked duck slices; it is a really delicious combination. I wouldn’t mind having this “health food” at all!

The Nasi Lemak Wrap (RM 21.90) is our old favourites here. It has all the nasi lemak ingredients such as rice (quinoa), egg, chicken, ikan bilis, sambal, cucumber – but minus the guilt.

It was a fiesta of tastes and textures – crunchy cucumber, juicy chicken, fluffy quinoa, creamy egg and etc.

We ended the meal with Vatte (RM11) – a double shot espresso with La Juiceria Almond Milk. It was rich, full-bodied and bitter sweet. The vatte was served with a shot of chlorophyll water that can keep us energised and hydrated whilst improving the quality of red blood cells.

Healthy food does not have to mean bland food, as proven by La Juiceria Superfoods. . We reach enjoyed everything that we had here – nasi lemak wrap (my default order here), teriyaki chicken rice bowl (who said you must avoid rice), smoked duck soba, gourmet salad topped with grilled lamb forequarter and raw cake, all washed down with cold pressed juices or vatte (almond milk latte). . I am now a @lajuiceria convert, frequenting the outlet near to my office. Thanks god there’s one near my office, no more excuses to eat healthier.
